Review of Latter Days (2004) by Keith — 28 Jul 2007
This movie tries really hard, which makes it difficult to give just a 6. There are scenes that work well, but others are clumsily written. The entire arc of the story felt forced. I think it largely succeeds in its final moments though, mostly because of the character of Aaron and the performance of Sandvoss.
In almost all his scenes he comes across as sincere, sweet, believable. Most of my motivation to keep watching was to see what happens with Aaron. There are just not that many gay themed movies that rise to any real level of quality.
This is yet another mixed bag, but still worth watching.
