Perhaps the biggest sin of a movie like this is having a lot of interesting ideas that probably don't seem conflicting until they are put to the test, for example the desire to be a modern cult film through laughable monster costumes and clueless "tension-building" directing which by itself is an idea that conflicts with COMMON SENSE.
