Review of Last Weekend (2014) by Jdelashmet — 22 Sep 2014
I loved the feeling that I was a third person participant--not really a voyeur, as I was closer to the goings-on of the family, and privy to the individual "secrets" of each of its members. I loved the pacing: It had the rhythm of a lazy holiday family weekend interjected with a few eventful happenings, brothers putting their best faces forward, hiding mistakes, fears.
It is beautifully photographed and the acting--especially that of Patricia Clarkson--is sensitive and memorable. It has lingered with me, and I think it is quite special.
