Review of Last Vegas (2013) by Eric C — 13 May 2014
Robert DeNiro, Kevin Kline, Morgan Freeman, and (eh) Michael Douglas hanging out together sounds GREAT! Do you know what's not great? These pathetic horn-dog characters they are given to play. And Las Vegas! Las Vegas should take a break from being in the movies, because it is a motor for debauchery clichés (strippers, wet-t-shirt contests, slutty bachelorette parties- ughh).
Robert DeNiro is just there to randomly supply dramatic moments, although he seemed to be having fun five minutes ago. Michael Douglas I assume is his character, but with less to empathize with. Kevin Kline and Morgan Freeman are the most enjoyable things about this film, but are giving lazy material to work with.
This cast deserves something better; something that isn't the sleazy city of Las Vegas.
