Review of Last Train Home (2009) by Suresh L — 14 May 2011
A really sad documentary that reminded me a lot of Up The Yangtze. The crowd/mob scenes really freaked me out and its so tragic that there is no childhood for kids like these. There are so many disturbing, unimaginable scenes and its mind blowing to realize that its a yearly occurrence and this is just a tiny picture of it.
Some of the family issues towards the end are so personal and hard to watch. I thought it was a really interesting paradox between the parents sacrificing so much to provide for their children who in turn feel abandoned by their parents being gone.
