Review of Last Tango in Paris (1972) by Carina R — 25 Jan 2008
Brando's contradictions are fascinating, and Schneider holds her own as a one-dimensional character. Leaud is well-cast as the amateur filmmaker. The score is an unforgettably important part of the whole film.
Bertolucci's writing and direction though, are overrated. There is an ever-present sense of incompletion.
