Review of Last Tango in Paris (1972) by Paul R — 04 Mar 2009
The best acting I have probably seen put to film. I didn't know that anyone could put this kind of raw passion into a performance. Brando said that after this movie he didn't ever want to put himself in a role like this anymore because it utterly devestated him.
This is an utterly tragic statement to make since this is such a beautiful movie. Everything about this is perfect.
And Bertolucci is a director's director, and an unbelievable talent.
