Review of Last Tango in Paris (1972) by Lilian W — 23 Sep 2010
For me, Bertolucci comes across as being manipulative and condescending, and it shows in the story and the dialogue, but the story is painfully tragic and the performances are achingly heartfelt (I'm not taking into consideration the shocking details that Brando and Shneider revealed later about their sufferings during the making of this film).
