Review of Last Tango in Paris (1972) by B-Movie N — 19 May 2011
I may be a little too honest when I say that Brando's character's torrid and often hateful relationship with Maria Schneider's character reminded me of every relationship or dating situation I've been in.
I don't think this is chauvinist or sexist really, I'm a pretty nihilistic guy in general, so naturally women are going to bring out the best and worst in me. People who are offended by this movie may see bits of themselves or people they love in the main characters, which is understandably painful.
But it's also the mark of a well made film with extremely powerful and convincing performances.
