Review of Last Shift (2014) by Cade H — 23 Nov 2015
Last Shift is like most haunted house films, only it takes place in a haunted police station. A rookie cop is stuck doing the last shift at an old police station before they shut it down for good. Like you might expect, more and more things start to go wrong and soon the officer is being chased and freaked out by the ghosts of a crazy family from the past.
The one thing this film did great was provide some really good scares. There were a couple great nail-biting moments and plenty of crazy scary looking creatures that appeared on screen. In between those, the film was a bit slow and featured lots of phone calls and freak out scenes that got old after a while.
The story was rather lackluster as you could tell the creators focused much more on the scares then the reasoning behind it. The ending was kind of a shock but even at that point, you never really got to care for the female rookie cop or what happened to her.
Last Shift is good for a few scares but other then that its pretty shallow.
