Last Shift is a chilling independent psychological horror film about a rookie cop who is working the last graveyard shift at a closing police precinct and throughout the night she is terrorized by the building's past.

With a completely unknown director and unknown actress at the helm, you completely buy her predicament and the setting being an abandoned police station works surprisingly well. The film draws many parallels to the work of John Carpenter and at times the tension is unbearable as you keep your eyes peeled watching for any signs of danger or movement in the background.

The film's tone is very dark with the spirits of sacrificial cult members terrorizing the main character in the forms of ghosts, telepathy, and frequent jump scares that actually work! The film does use a few too many tropes of the horror genre, including a homeless character who frequently pops up and his resolution is never explained, but it twists most of these conventions in a refreshing way.

The ending is also quite dark and a bit unexpected; this movie will get under your skin whether you like it or not!
