Review of Last Ounce of Courage (2012) by Landon B — 11 Sep 2012
"Last Ounce of Courage" is a compelling screenplay rendered onto the big screen in something less than a big way.
The acting is stiff and the emotive music is way Way WAY too loud during all those touchy-feely junctures when we're supposed to be weeping into a hanky.
It feels like it was written over a decade ago as the characters feel like they came through a time-warp. It doesn't exactly capture the popular culture today. I dunno, maybe it's me . . . do Vietnam vets still ride Harleys with do-dads and patches pinned to their denim vest-jackets? Ok then, I'm the one with a problem.
Being a "message" movie, there's an agenda you won't miss. I very much liked the message and would recommend it. What it has to say needs to be said. I just wish they'd said it with more panache.
