Review of Last Ounce of Courage (2012) by Wayne W — 21 Sep 2012
Why is there such a difference between the the critic's reviews and movie goers reviews? Most critics call it a bad movie which was poorly made, however they throw in subtext stating the movie is homophobic, bigoted and racist, this actually proves the point of the movie, that the media lack a real understanding our forefathers beliefs and intentions. There is only one quote in the mass of documentation that mentions "church and state";.
They quote Thomas Jefferson, Third President of the United States, stated in a Jan. 1, 1802 letter to the Danbury Baptist Association:
"Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between Man & his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legitimate powers of government reach actions only, & not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, thus building a wall of separation between Church & State.".
-- --.
Even this one quote states that government "legislature should make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof" The meaning here is the wall of seperation was to protect religions and churches from government, not the government from churches. Our country was founded on Christian principles by people wanting freedom from religeous persecution.
George Washington said: "If I could have entertained the slightest apprehension that the Constitution framed by the convention, where I had the honor to preside, might possibly endanger the religious rights of any ecclesiastical society, I would never have placed my signature to it.".
-- --.
In conclusion the point of the movie was to show that we have devolved as a true Christian nation. Government and media have so shifted their moral compass they are making laws where no laws were ever intended to be made. Christians, Muslims, Jews and all other religions in this country have the right to freedom of belief and non harmful expression.
