Review of Last Night (1998) by Peter C — 19 Jul 2007
Engrossing and amusing Canadian film. This came in 1998, when it seemed for a breif time that Canadian cinema was on it's way. Oddly, the local industry kind of lurched and burped after that. This, along with Jesus of Montreal, is my favorite Canadian film.
Lovely characters, a great concept, acutely observational, and very, very funny in parts. Don McKellar is a fine screenwriter and directs this with style and panache without getting too showy.
