Review of Last Man Standing (1996) by Brendan O — 17 Jun 2009
Awesome Gangster Western with Bruce Willis as a hard-nosed gun-for-hire. Sorta like Yojimbo/A Fistful of Dollars set during the prohibition, maybe not as classic as either of them, but still enjoyable and well-made.
Besides the by-the-book Willis routine that basically John McClane, it's Christopher Walken that really steals the show as a tommy-gun-toting psycho. Last Man Standing is a fun little throw-back to westerns and samurai flicks, not the best effort from either Willis or Walter Hill, but I still like it.
