Review of Last Life in the Universe (2003) by Alecs M — 11 Apr 2009
GOOOOOD I have recently and fortunately been in touch with oriental cinema. And this is a very fresh, tender, funny and poetic approach to it. What can I say about a film in which action is not the main thing? The prologue, full of violence and fast happenings opposites with most of the movie, in wich silences, and particulary the homes and places the characters live in tells us much more than the things they do and say.
Human relationships and allienation is beautifully portayed here. The total look of the film is also out of the old school but having a lot of references.
