Review of Last Knights (2015) by Byno1985 — 04 Apr 2015
Don't listen to the critics. They is one of those instanced where they bash an action move because they feel there is no art there. *Spoiler* This movie is another re-imagining of the Japanese historical event/legend of the 47 ronin.
The legend is supposed to be a an account of when 47 ronin waited and plotted a year in order to get revenge for there daimyo (feudal lord) when he was compelled to commit seppuku (ritual suicide) for assaulting a court official.
The story is supposed to example of the samurai code of honer. The movie stayed true to the techniques they used to deceive the court official who they planned to kill but its a bit awkward in the setting of knights and Clive Owen.
They also didn't change what the call the Emperor when they decided to used knights, so you have an Emperor instead of a king. Overall a good movie with good acting. It has good action as well but its more about the story that the fighting.
If you love the story of the 47 ronin(not the **** Keanu Reeves movie) you will like this movie.
