My opinions of this film are somewhat mixed. It's well shot and has all the makings of an excellent film, but it's far too slow, even by van Sant's standards. Michael Pitt gives a commendable performance as Blake, Van Sants obvious tribute to Kurt Cobain, but at times the film is overdirected.
Cobain fans be warned, this is very much Van Sant's vision.
