Review of Last Days (2004) by John D — 24 Mar 2008
You know all those record stores were you buy all your shitty "good-for-all" trend albums? Those music channels were you can listen to your plastic tunes and view all of your favorite musicians stars get raped again and again by tyrant money obeying record companies? Well, if there was a big fire and burnt all of that down, I am quite sure a Nirvana song would be somehow giving motion to the wise flames.
This brilliant film transcends through simplicity and gives tribute to the departed noise master Kurt Cobain, portraiting his last days on hollow world. But do not make the terrible mistake of confusing something simple with something poor.
If you do, you failed to understand. Throughout the movie one gets knife fucked in the brain with many details of decrepitude, decay, insanity process, detachment and slow death. Just how I want to remember (The)Nirvana.
One of the most well achieved symbolic scenes are in this movie....the paradox of natural beauty and purifying filth. Empower your soul with paper cuts and ascend to dimension 7! His legacy speaks for himself, and so does this movie.
..and I must say, I'm glad he is dead.
