Review of Last Days (2004) by Geraldine A — 15 Apr 2009
Very depressing. michael pitt is amazing. Gus van sant is a genius. the film makes for a good look into the last days of a wonderful mind laced with drugs or what we assume to be drugs. Seems like a good way to go. sometimes the film becomes almost voyeuristic and feels as if we shouldnt be looking in on it. The silence is deafening but very real. Every step is echoed and every creak is loud bringing a definite surreal feel to it. A good mix and match if you will.
What I like about the film is that there's no loud music, no loud life.. just a soft death.
