Review of Last Action Hero (1993) by Scotty P — 28 May 2011

This movie is a guilty pleasure for me. The premise may be ridiculous to a fault but I find that there is plenty of clever and humorous concepts to entertain. I enjoyed the various movie references and the presence of a great cast including Academy Award winning actors.

Another aspect I liked was the message saying that what happens in the movies doesn't happen in reality. Even if a film is true to life, it is still fiction. However, Austin O'Brien as Danny can get very grating at times but he does okay with what he is given.

Again, Last Action Hero is a guilty pleasure for me because I find that there is a lot entertainment value and creativity that transcend its ludicrous plot.
