(1993) Last Action Hero.
ACTION.
Upon it's release, this was known as Arnold Schwarzenegger's first PG 13 action film since the only ones that were doing well boxoffice-wise were his "R" rated ones which includes "Commando", "Total Recall" The "Terminator" and Predator to name a few after learning that a great percentage of his audience were underage and are male. What we get here a rather dismissive "Cloak And Dagger" clone with sub par action sequences that can cheer any 8 year old who don't watch enough! The plot involves a young kid idolizing a fictionalized hero played by of course Schwarzenegger (hence the name)and the heroic things he does to help aid this kids imagination while being chased around or bullied whatever. The message is similar to a young Henry Thomas's "Cloak And Dagger" made in 1984 right after doing E.T. in 1982 with a simplistic message bween what is real as opposed to something that is made up. "Cloak and Dagger" is more genuine about this message than the overblown and over pricey "The Last Action Hero".
2.5 out of 4.
