Review of Last Action Hero (1993) by John W — 04 Feb 2014
Wow this film is taking a beating. But you know what, I actually like it. Not the greatest comedy ever but it does give me a good laugh. Especially if you've seen enough action and buddy-cop films of the era that's being parodied.
It's got three greats of the genre working on it. John McTiernan the director of DIE HARD(in my opinion) the greatest action film ever made, The Terminator himself Arnold Schwarzenegger in the starring role, and the writer of the first two LETHAL WEAPON films Shane Black on the script.
And Charles Dance as the villainous Benedict is nothing less than brilliant. Just YouTube BENEDICT'S THEORY and you'll see what mean. Again, not the greatest comedy film ever, but I would say it is one of the most underrated and worth a watch for action fans.
