Review of Last Action Hero (1993) by Tom H — 17 Feb 2009
Last Action Hero is extremely underrated. This is really a movie lover's movie. McTiernan's ultimate goal in making this movie was to have fun and I loved it. How can you criticize a movie with intentional plot holes and continuity errors? Every time I caught myself saying "Hey! That wasn't done correctly.
" I had to follow it up with "Oh, that's right. This is Last Action Hero." It lampoons the entire action genre while maintaining itsself on its own power. My only complaint? The main character.
There were too many times I was distracted with his acting, and I know there were kids in 1993 that could act, so that's no excuse. At any rate, this AHNULD movie is a staple in the action afficionado's library.
