Review of Last Action Hero (1993) by Sue B — 10 Oct 2010
A silly little movie, that perfectly satirizes the action genre. This is the original genre spoof film (way before Scary Movie and the rest that followed), except it's done in a tasteful way with humorous one liners and clean jabs at formulaic action movie content, rather than gross out humor as seen in post Scary Movie genre spoofs.
It's also nice to see Arnold has a sense of humor, as he takes a few jabs at himself as well, all in good fun. Despite all of the positives, the 3 stars comes from quite a few moments where the movie loses itself in slapstick, and downright childish humor.
