Review of Last Action Hero (1993) by Matt S — 21 Apr 2014
21 years later (21?!?!?), this flick still captures my imagination. I instantly connected with the main character, danny, and his passion for the magical picture shows that transport us, temporarily, away from our own lives.
At a time when my only source of income was lawn mowing money - and most of that went to putting gas in my tank - I still managed to drive an hour to see this 6 times in the summer of '93. while most folks chose to spend their time with dinosaurs, I chose hanging with arnold and this love letter/spoof to all things action.
I have always - and will more than likely continue - to count this flick among some of my very favorites. maybe the most underrated "ah-nuld" movie, this send-up of the 80s action flick is spot-on.
