Review of Last Action Hero (1993) by Jeff D — 12 Apr 2011
As ridiculous as it may sound, Last Action Hero is a post modern film that requires multiple viewings to fully appreciate. John McTiernan, the greatest action director in Hollywood history, deftly parodies his own work to create the fictionalized world of Arnold Schwarzenegger's Jack Slater.
Last Action Hero is a unique picture that gives a wink and a nod to it's audience, hoping they are are clever enough to keep up with the relentless barrage of pop culture analogies.
