Review of Lars and the Real Girl (2007) by Sean C — 02 Feb 2012
Despite magnificent performances from Emily Mortimer and Ryan Gosling, "Lars and the Real Girl" suffers from a "buy it or don't watch" style of filmmaking that will alienate as many people as it captivates.
For me, it did both. Plausability problems plague the production as well as its unkempt running time, but the kindness shown in this film rubs off just enough to entertain for most, if not all, of this indie charmer.
