Review of Lars and the Real Girl (2007) by Romeo H — 15 Jun 2013
Lars and the real girl is an entertaining, thought provoking film that remains interesting all the way. Although psychologically not always believable. Ryan Gosling plays his part mostly very convincing; yes, he carries the movie like a true star.
The other actors are excellent as well, but Ryan really stands out: you can see his enormous talent shine. It wasn't optional for the whole cast to be and act really, really great to pull off this film, because the script didn't help: if even one actor would have slacked off for just the tinyest of moments, this would have been a rediculous film instantly.
In that sense, this movie is a bit like Rainman or Forrest Gump: for it to work, everybody should do great. And they did... Because of those excellent performances, it was a true delight to watch! Good job!
