Review of Lars and the Real Girl (2007) by Ian B — 07 Feb 2012
A tender, heartfelt film which delicately balances comedy and pathos. Ryan Gosling embodies warmth and naivety as Lars, a man cut off from the pain of grief and loss.
It is unlikely that, in real life, a community would rally round to help him heal as the one in the film does but it's good to stay open to that possibility.
