Review of Lars and the Real Girl (2007) by Dennis M — 25 Aug 2012
A weird, somewhat disturbing yet ultimately moving study of a nice but delusional young man and the people who care about him. Original, well written and well executed. OK, so only small town sentimentalists will accept the supportive behavior of the townsfolk - a clearly idealized view of human compassion.
But there is a bit of a thought-provoking lesson in that too.
