Review of Lars and the Real Girl (2007) by Shidan C — 28 Dec 2012
Perfect, absolutely amazing. A story about fear, separation, belonging, and love. The film focusses on topics such as separation anxiety, the affect of early childhood trauma, and the desire to belong and to be normal in the eyes of family, society, and friends. The effect of the love the family and community can have on an individual could not have been better expressed. The ending was one of the best i've ever seen.
Everyone solves problems in their own way, it is not ours to judge how they do it.
