Forget the somewhat strange (and to some, maybe off-putting) premise. This is a very sweet, well made movie that shows Ryan Gosling playing against type as a lovable loser. It'll make you feel warm, happy, yet has all the right kind of bleakness to make you care for Lars.
A definite watch for fans of small, simple indie-comedies.
