Review of Lars and the Real Girl (2007) by Daniel S — 29 Mar 2015
I like that it's a small quiet film, and that it takes a somewhat absurd concept but treats it very seriously, I give credit to Gosling for shedding his hunk status and looking and acting pretty weird and awkward, it proves how committed of an actor he is, there are lots of good tender moments throughout, I dont know about the whole town coming together and supporting this delusion though, including paramedics, and the brother could have tried harder to convince him she was a doll earlier on, but its definitely good, its a pretty different look at a romance film, but still effective.
