Review of Lars and the Real Girl (2007) by Peter T — 23 Oct 2015
A lonely man uses a Real Doll for comfort and companionship. That's a simple premise that can devolve into fodder for cheap laughs, but this quirky comedy transformed it into something beautiful. The writing, music, the brilliant acting from those involved, and the directing all came together to breathe emotion into this Real Doll to make that doll into a living and breathing character with real emotion.
What a hidden gem. What a heartfelt movie.
