Review of Larry Crowne (2011) by Mikko A — 03 Dec 2011
As soon as I saw this was written my Nia Vardalos (My Big Fat Greek Wedding) I knew this was going to be a Big Fat Piece of Crap. Everyone likes Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts, and if this movie was made 15yrs ago it might have been relevant.
Frankly, if you want to see these 2 90s icons in a good movie together, try Charlie Wilson's War, a MUCH better movie. In fact, if Rita Wilson and Hanks weren't friends with Vardalos, this NEVER gets made.
Big cast, big waste. If you like lighthearted fluff then, this is for you, absolutely nothing of substance. For a guy who's supposedly $400K in debt, he sure smiles a lot, and amazingly affords college with a job as a cook.
..but then again life's problems are all solved by romance and scooters.
