Review of Larry Crowne (2011) by Meredith M — 01 Jan 2012

With the charming duo of Julia Roberts and Tom Hanks (two of my favorite actors), I knew I wanted to see this rom-com. More so, was curious to see Larry Crowne when I learned the screenplay was written by Tom Hanks (as well as directed by).

But to my disappointment, it only offered a mild chuckle. And there was a surprising lack of chemistry between Roberts and Hanks. The subplot of sideline characters were distracting from the storyline, and the music soundtrack left a lot to be desired.

Without its headliners, this film would be a flop.
