I think critics treat this film a little too harshly. Sure, it doesn't truly articulate the strife and grief and misery that more often than not accompany economic troubles, but it does offer a cute, nicely packaged escape.
Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts have great chemistry and it's nice to loose one's self in the rosy plot.
