Review of Larry Crowne (2011) by Scott W — 28 Feb 2014
Larry Crowne thrives from the charisma that Tom Hanks is able to deliver with his simple humble performance of Larry Crowne, a man who is fired from a mediocre job and seeks a future through a college education.
Julia Roberts gives a strong performance (though it will never be remembered as one of her best) but Hanks outshines everyone and while also pulling double duty in the directors chair takes a simple direct plot and makes a connection with viewers all the while entertaining with ease.
