Review of L'Argent (1983) by Irvin C — 25 Sep 2007
Okay, Bresson has just moved up in my list of favorite filmmakers. "L'Argent" is his last film and arguably his darkest, bleakest one yet (and from Bresson, this is saying something). When two teenage boys decide to use counterfeit money, this sets off a series of events which eventually leads a decent man to turn into a life of crime and murder.
The entire film is just extraordinary but the final act is nothing short of masterful.
