Review of Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001) by Brian F — 08 Sep 2010
Compared to a lot of other video game adaptions that have been released over the years, Lara Croft- Tomb Raider is one of the better videogame movies. While the movie features an original story created for the movie, it takes a lot of elements from the games and follows them pretty well.
Angelina Jolie was a good choice for Lara, and does well in the role. Lara's butler and techie friend in the movie also are entertaining and hold their own in the movie. The special effects are pretty good and not hugely over-the-top.
I preferred this movie to it's sequel, Cradle of Life. If you played the Tomb Raider games, I'm sure you will love the movie. If you haven't played the games, and like adventure movie, it will still be enjoyable to watch.
If you are somebody who has never played the Tomb Raider games, you will still be able to follow the movie, while the people who have played them, can point out the things they recognize from the game.
Definitely recomment it to Tomb Raider fans, or anyone who likes adventure films.
