Review of Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001) by Rebecca Z — 21 Oct 2010
Lara Croft is a solid PG-13 fun action yarn with some Indiana Jones tossed in it's DNA.
A young Jolie stars in this lead as a globe trotting heroine armed with guns, knives and a knockout punch.
The movie has a solid cast in Voight, Craig and a $115 million budget that is flaunted well here.
Statues come to life, gizmos whirr in bone crunching 3 dimensions, mansions are trashed, world scenes are utilized, it's alot of eye candy to take in.
A standard mumbo jumbo about evil men attempting to control time and Croft gums up their gears with poetic artful moves well done and well prepared for.
Good popcorn film.
