Review of Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001) by Jack G — 14 Oct 2013
Sleek, sexy, and a bit convoluted. To its merit the action and Jolie's role of Tomb Raider is still fun and exciting the plot unfortunately makes a mess of everything. It lacks flow and just seems jagged and almost as if the writers were writing the script while filming, scene by scene.
Jolie herself as well as Craig and Voight deliver really fun preformances which is more captivating. The action itself is interesting allowing for unique set pieces that feel like actual levels in a great adventure game.
It doesnt deserve the panning the critcs have been giving it, it simply is a popcorn flick that decided to reach to far but retains a lot of fun moments.
