Review of Land of the Lost (2009) by Eric S — 06 Jun 2012
Will Stanton (McBride): [on the rocks, to Rick] You ever get tired of being wrong?
Dr. Rick Marshall (Ferrell): [being chased by the T-Rex] I do! I really do!
I kind of thought it was cute. Granted this film share some similarities with the original series: the title, some of the characters' names, the sleestaks, the crystals chamber and the rafting incident. So, if you are expecting this to be just like the original series then you'll be sorely disappointed; but, if you judge this solely on its own merrit, it is kind of entertaining....not gut-bustingly hilarious, but campy and silly entertaining. Fairly enjoyable still, although Will Ferrell has no business being the leading-man-love-interest. The best part of the whole film was Chaka (Jorma Taccone), he totally stole the show. Danny McBride and Anna Friel were good too but without Taccone's Chaka, the film wouldn't have been half as entertaining.
