Review of Land of the Dead (2005) by Tim W — 15 May 2010
Another wonderful zombie flick from George A. Romero. The thing that makes this great is that we finally get to see Romero utilize the physical horrors to its full potential, thanks to the advancement of technology since his last film ('Day of the Dead', 1985).
The gore is 110% present, and is likely to make any viewer (who doesn't have a stomach made of steel) puke their guts out. I mean that in a good way. Gore is what we wanted. Gore is what we got. By far, the most appealing star in this film is Dennis Hopper, once again playing a selfish villain who ultimately meets his demise.
