Review of Land of the Dead (2005) by The Critic ( — 29 Aug 2012
Showcasing what would have to perhaps be considered the best make-up effects of any zombie film, 'Land of the Dead' is unable to boast anything else. Yes, Simon Baker, John Leguizamo and Dennis Hopper are as good as you'd expect, but there's nothing about any of the characters here (with the exception of Robert Joy's Charlie) to remotely like or care about.
Visuals and some effective seat-jumps just don't cut it anymore. Altogether disappointing and pointless.
