Review of Land Ho! (2014) by Rob O — 28 Aug 2014
I love this movie! A charming story about two older men who "get their grove back" on a trip to Iceland. The characters are relatable, the story resonates, the scenery is beautiful, and the music is toe tapping great.
The directors didn't fall into stupid Hollywood traps that make caricatures out of old people. This movie is so real that by the end I felt like Mitch and Colin are my new best friends. Don't pay any attention to the reviews that focus on Mitch's inappropriate language.
He is a lovable character who doesn't varnish over his view of the world. Appreciate his "down home" wisdom and his warm heart. By the end of the Iceland adventure both Mitch and Colin relax into a new appreciation for their place in life.
We can all benefit from our journey with these two unforgettable characters.
