Review of Lakeview Terrace (2008) by Baylen M — 15 Aug 2009
Lakeview Terrace is about a new married interracial couple that moves into a new neighborhood, where their new neighbor is a racist bitter cop, played by Samuel L. Jackson. The cop doesn't approve of his new neighbors, so he tries his hardest to scare/annoy/piss them away.
The problem I had with this movie was the movie itself. The entire movie consists of harassment, vandalism etc., all because grumpy ole Sam Jackson doesn't like his neighbors. All the characters are childish and immature and there really isn't one plausible moment in the movie, and if there is, it's probably hidden behind the absurdity of it's reason. I mean if all you had to do to get a criminal to let his guard down was mention his dead wife, then bravo, that's real creative, congratulations.
On a good note the acting is pretty decent with the absurd material they are given, however it's definitely not enough to recommend.
