Review of Lakeview Terrace (2008) by David K — 22 Feb 2010
Surprisingly effective thriller. Ebert was right. The worst thing about this movie is the advertising. The trailers didn't convey the message of the movie, which made it look really dumb. But it isn't.
Well-written, with a slow pace and satisfying ending. Everything might not be Academy Award worthy, but there are no major missteps. The only thing is how comfortable you are with the subject matter, which is race ultimately.
Oh, and the cinematography is great.
