Review of Lakeview Terrace (2008) by Andrew P — 04 Dec 2011
You know, I actually thought this film was done quite well. Can't say I had any complaints with the acting or directing, really the entire package was bundled together quite nicely. But I just could not bring myself to like a film as negative as this one was.
From start to finish, it's just negativity.. you never have an opportunity to feel good about ANYTHING. The only emotions you will experience are frustration and anger. And I don't know about anyone else, but when I watch a movie, I usually like to.
. enjoy the experience. The totally disjointed plot with completely unnecessary scripted elements didn't help matters either. I mean, what was the point of that whole giant fire there at the end? And the kids served no purpose whatsoever; they pretty much disappear from the movie halfway through.
Unfinished story devices, random and unorganized themes.. Lakeview Terrace had these in a vastly excessive amount.
